About Us
Mud River Angoras is located near Prince George, BC , the Gateway to the North. Mud River Angoras is owned by myself, Loralee Schultz. I have been weaving and spinning for about ten years.
My passion for fibre led me to raise German and Giant angora rabbits. These beautiful bunnies will produce on average 2-3lbs of fibre a year and they’re so cute! If you’re interested in more information about our angoras and want to be added to the waiting list for our next litter, please e-mail us . As for angora fibres, we currently sell prime raw angora, millspun angora and handspun angora. In the future we will be offering one-of-a-kind angora blends in batts or rovings.
I love working with the finest quality of yarns and fibres. Merino is usually the only wool I spin and I am really hooked on angora, silk, and mohair too. That being said, I buy a lot of my fibres from Ashland Bay as their quality is second to none and their colour ways are gorgeous. Locally, the felters have been ecstatic about these fibres and I’m sure you will be, too. Once you’ve spun or felted Ashland Bay you will likely never go back to anything else.
2006 is the first year of my business although I have sold on Ebay in the past and my feedback there is 100% positive. You can look me up under the user name eelarol. Personalized customer service and high quality fibres are my focus. I am very interested in knowing and meeting the needs and interests of the fibre community so let me know what you’d like to see offered here. I can custom order items for you and work with you to help you meet your fibre dreams. In the future I plan to sell spinning wheels, looms and felting equipment too. I also want to offer classes and possibly fibre retreats. I will shape my business around you, the customer, and what you need from Mud River Angoras.
Recently, I have had the privilege of taking weaving lessons from Master Weaver Laura Fry (whom I highly recommend). One of the projects I have made in her class is a 4 shaft scarf with a silk warp and an angora weft using millspun angora from my rabbits. This scarf is so luxurious that I have turned it into a scarf kit for other weavers to enjoy.
